What led</em><br /><em>Bogota’s women, in such a difficult juncture, to make</em><br /><em>these changes? Starting out from this question, this article</em><br /><em>considers the representations of modernity that</em><br /><em>circulated in the illustrated press from 1920 to 1930,</em><br /><em>emphasizing the particular ways an illustrated elite, in</em><br /><em>its eagerness to establish a class barrier, assumed transformations</em><br /><em>in consumption habits, but not before they</em><br /><em>adapted the objects and images installed through this</em><br /><em>discourse to their traditions.</em></p><p><em><strong>Key Words:</strong> Bogotá, women, dress, body, publicity</em></p> ER -
